I am a public school teacher of students in AP Biology, AP Environmental Science, and General Chemistry here in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, USA. I have attached a photo of my back "yard". It's not exactly cactus country
I have been a C & S fan for many years but have never had the time to do it right. Now that I do have more time and this community as a resource, I am very excited about putting my collection in order. I have already learned a great deal in the two days that I have been here.
I am eager to learn more.
Cheers,
GT

Welcome!
A cactus and succulent collector who especially likes Ariocarpus. …Though I have a bit of everything! Want some pictures? See my flickr! I also do art and such.

Welcome to the cactus and succulent forum of CactiGuide. Well, your "backyard" is quite beautiful, but unless you can grow tree-like cacti, you will have to provide some clearance for the plants.
I assume, you will be growing cacti and succulents in pots or am I incorrect with that assumption?

Thanks Harald!
Indeed you are correct. They are all in pots. Inside in the Winter outside in the Summer.

Welcome!
This scenery looks beautiful. Think your cacti is going to like it.
I live in the city so mine are just surrounded by concrete, unfortunately...
