Cacti should originate or be created somewhere in South America, maybe Brazil: the greatest diversity region of species is there now.
If your cacti mess in your job just forget about the job.

This is not always how it works. Passeriformes originated in Australia, for example, but their greatest diversity is in South America and Southeast Asia.

Modern plant classifications are based on phylogeny OBEA.

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/phylogeny

These assume just like humans they have ancestors going back into ancient history which they arose from. Even morphological classifications throughout our lifetimes have tried to reproduce this family tree and avoid putting plants in the same genus that arose from totally different ancestors. DNA Sequencing is now trying to do this even more accurately by chemical means.

If you use a modern classification for your plants you are accepting this fact. Even grouping plants together in the same genus assumes they had a common ancestor in the past. To avoid using a phylogenetic classification you would have to just give your plants pet names, as some do.
