Good Morning,
Just have a quick question. I planted Peruvian Apple(Cereus peruvianus) seeds about 2 weeks ago. 16 of 25 sprouted. Here is the weird thing though.
All the seedlings are a nice green except one. That one sprouted a solid cherry red and is still a Red. I wanted to say too much light but all the others are nice green.
Any ideas on next steps for it? Should I leave it and see what happens or should I remove it?
Thanks for any help on this one
Darren
Solid Red Seedling???
Re: Solid Red Seedling???
Yeah usually I'd say too much light but if the others are green it might just be a weird one. No point in removing it really, just see what happens; might turn green eventually or it might stay red and not accomplish much.

It’ll probably turn green eventually. I had one that was pink for like 3 months and it’s normal now. I could be very wrong though hehe.

Just wait and see. It may turn out completely normal, or it might be something interesting like a variegated one. It might die, too - if that happens, then you should remove it.

I started Golden Barrels from seed. Had about 100 germinate. Grew for 3 months in baggies. I had one totally white. No chlorophyll. It grew for 3 more months., then it turned to mush. I have a picture somewhere. I will look for it.
