Today we have a succulent! This is a Haworthia sp. that I took a picture of to test aperture functionality (my older camera broke a little and lost this functionality):

Re: Gemhunter from now forward~
Today marks a milestone for me. What I have pictured below is my first Ariocarpus from seed to flower! It appears this Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus ssp. albiflorus has beat the others!
It's been a long time since February 10th, 2012 when I sowed this. A lot has changed in those (almost) 7 years - this plant has known me since middle school, friends come and gone, whatever else, yet, we persisted. Here's to another good year for growing!

P.S. This week's photos will be featuring seedlings sown last year or this year
P.P.S. sorry for the little speech, I'm really happy about this one.

For today's seedling picture we have some Frailea larae VoS 11-933 sown on Nov. 24th, 12018! A bit too early to tell, but one seedling looks a bit odd... who knows what it will grow up to be like?

Where did you purchase seed of this one from? I haven’t found many sources of habitat Frailea spp.

It has VoS numbers so its Volker Schaedlich - http://www.richtstatt.de/gymnos_v3/news.php?l=en
I ordered a bunch of Gymnos from him with excellent germination, so my recommendations! Although, his list is from October and they say Fraileas have to be fresh. You can send him a mail to see if they are still viable.

Technically, there's always debate in these genera of cacti on what are true species and whatnot, but yes, I did get them from Volker! For a direct page to the seed catalog - http://www.richtstatt.de/gymnos_v3/cat.php?a=seeds&l=enAtozbotanicals wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 5:51 am Where did you purchase seed of this one from? Frailea larae is still available at the time of writing, though I would also ask about how old the seeds are....
I had good germination on most of the seeds I bought from Volker, though I do have to say the Fraileas have significantly lower germination than the Gymnocalycium seeds that I sowed (then again, I was getting 90%+ for those). The next picture I will be posting is from seeds from the same order as well!

Here's a few rows of Gymnocalycium uebelmannianum VoS 14-1757 sown on the same date as the previous ones (Nov 24th, 2018)!

I have a few more left for next week! It's winter resting period for all the older plants, so, not much happening there.

Before I get back to a few seedling pictures - there's a bud on my Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus, so I took a picture of it! Hopefully it will wait for my return home...but it probably won't. Maybe I should run home for a few hours for the purpose?
