First post here - lots of good information here - thx
I’ve read Echeverias can do it (leaf cuttings from inflorescence), and Dudleya was in the past called Echeveria- so it begs the question.
Thank you,
JB

Re: Dudleya cuttings possible?
Thanks Spike - I will soon!
Yeah Keith - I’ve spoken to a botanist friend about it and he wasn’t so sure but pointed to the fact that Echeveria do so
bbarv’s link was pretty straightforward
So I’m giving it a shot - outside of the parameters of bbarv’s link in that it’s still cool here in the Central Valley of California
I took three inflorescences and cut them up
Most contain some stem material from the flowering stem
I’ll let them dry a bit - like a week or maybe more and then try to get these pups to root

Re: Dudleya cuttings possible?
Looks like an interesting experiment. Please post results, especially which leaves root better with the peace of the inflorescence, broken off or cut off.
Nice plants by the way.

Re: Dudleya cuttings possible?
I know that Dudleyas only root in Winter in my yard. I can plant dry stems from broken plants in the late Summer and right about now after the rains they are rooted and about 2X bigger.
I also get seeds sprouting from the local Dudleya lanceolata which goes very dormant in Summer. I don't think they live long but if I keep the flower stalks on the ground I get new plants after the rains.
