Anyone kno where to buy those heavy duty plastic pots? Can only find the 2” ones. Looking for 4 and 6”

Anderson Pots has round in 4” and 6”.

I can not find small pots (5 cm) only there. Bigger stuff is in excess supply. :mrgreen:

Square pots for small cacti. These look durable with many wholes below. Just got a pack for $17.99.

I use terracotta coloured plastic ones. They are the commonest colour in the UK. In theory black pots should last better in the sun being more resistant to UV degradation, but also will heat the soil up quicker in summer if the sides are exposed unless packed tightly on the staging's.

A good source of free pots in the UK is to look in skips (dumpsters in the US?) as people buy garden plants in pots and then just dump them and few are being recycled, best to ask the householder first if you can have them though rather than just rummage through their skip. In fact there is a problem with black plastic not being recycled as evidently the automatic sorting machines don't recognise black plastic as it does not reflect the sorting light beam used back to the sensor.

Pity in a sense rather than recycling them they just don't collect them and offer them back to the nurserymen for reuse again, since with normal bedding plants they are seldom in the pots for long before being sold and then the pot thrown away again.
