This cactus, whose life thus far appears to have been rather rough, was abandoned on my doorstep last night.
I've looked at several photos of echinocactus, refforo cactus and echinopsis, but have yet to encounter the thorn configuration on mine.
Does anyone recognize it?
Thanks
Richard

Re: Which Barrel
Certainly a Ferocactus and one of the broad central spined forms. Its had a hard life but as long as the central growing point is not damaged it will grow out OK eventually.

Re: Which Barrel
F.latispinus seems a good call.
I wouldn't be optimistic about the growing point - it doesn't look good. Expect offsets next year!

May I ask you - where did you get it from?
