Hi
Last week I asked about this and the consensus was it was a Golden Barrel.
Here it is sitting with all my other Golden Barrel. It looks completely different.
Any ideas?
Thank you

If not a Golden barrel variation....then perhaps a Something somethingii albispinus? Just throwing that out there.
Re: Is this really a Golden Barrel
Agree with Steve-0 - it seems matching well with Echbinocactus grusonii var.albispinus
Re: Is this really a Golden Barrel
Most species are variable unless clones. Echinocactus grusonii has been in cultivation for generations, therefore some nurserymen have often selected the most attractive to breed from and so produced their own clones. E. grusonii now has clones in cultivation from almost almost spineless to extremely spiny and from golden spined to white. Many of these clones have no legitimate varietal name, just ones nurserymen tagged on to sell them.

Re: Is this really a Golden Barrel
It looks like a younger plants that has been grown rather more quickly than yours, in favourable nursery conditions. So it has fewer ribs than your older, harder grown plants and has larger wooly areoles because it's been growing until very recently.
I guess that after a year under your care, it will look more similar to your others, give or take a bit of spine colour variation.
