Does Anyone Make Melon Scoops of Different Sizes?

Post by pone »

I would like to have a set of round melon scoops of different sizes, from 1/8" up to about 2" that I can use to make precision cuts into the side of a cactus that has a small localized rot. Currently, I have a Cereus with a black spot about 3/16" wide, and I want to do the minimal damage to the plant in taking out the rotting section. Does anyone make metal scoops in a set with various sizes?

Perhaps wood carving tools might be better?

I would imagine you can get cheaper versions than these:

I don't know about better, but that might be the only option I have. If anyone knows of a wood gouging set that has many different scoop sizes I would like to know about it.

This looks pretty good:

My guess is that the 10 mm. and 15 mm. diameter melon scoopers should be just about right for what you need.

I ordered all three tools. That's a good find. I could still use some smaller diameter tools for precision work
