Is this a bad idea

I essentially cannot supply the proper temperatures for my Epiphyllum hybrid to bloom because of apartment limitations. I was wondering if it would be a bad idea to give the plant some gibberellic acid around the time these plants are normally in bloom?

What's stopping to try this? That is your only plant?

It's worth a try. Even if you mess up, the GA3 is unlikely to hurt your plant.

Never tried it on cactus, but it caused some distorted growth on the plants I tried it on. It was over 40 years ago, so I don't remember what I used it on. I've seen it advertised to make cactus offset, recently.

If I’m correct I’m pretty sure they use this stuff commercially on thanksgiving cacti and peace lilies to get them to flower more. I just wonder if it would work and be safe to use on an Epiphyllum hybrid?

I would think it would be safe. At worst, distorted growth or burnt growth, but it probably won't kill your plant.

I’ll only give a little. If this works though it’s gonna make me feel like I can play god with my other flowering houseplants

Have you considered the reason you're not getting blooms is that it's winter?
