If you have a cactus plant and need help identifying it, this is the place to post it.

Two columnars

Post by gillinger »

My sister gave me two pots of cacti that she said she'd had for years but no longer had room for. I'm gussjng she's had them locked away in a shed somewhere. They're definitely in need of some tlc. I've managed to clean them up and separated them out.

Can anyone please identify? I'm fairly sure the first one is a Stetsonia, the Toothpick cactus. Not sure on the other one. Could be a Pilosocereus maybe?

Thanks!

Thanks, that's brilliant. I did consider Polaskia but couldn't find a close enough picture match.

They can look quite different depending on how strong the sunlight they were grown under is. Less light -> less spination.
