G'morning Bryan,
I think it looks like G. pillansii.
Thank you very much for your information.
I have confidence for the name of succulent now.

Several turbinicarpus valdezianus have pushed flowering buds up.
Although I stopped watering in May, cacti know spring will be soon.

I planted Euryops Pectinatus along the fence as the decoration of greenhouse some years ago.
The instruction said the plant would reach to 1m height.

The photo is the current situation. The height is more than 2m. The south side of greenhouse affects on sunlight intake.
I will cut them back after finished the flower.

It is still in winter inside of the greenhouse but spring has come to outside.
Impressive and really beautiful plants .

G'afternoon Mrs. Green,
Impressive and really beautiful plants .
Thanks for your comment.
I have not been able to see any cacti flowers yet unfortunately.

Flower colour on previous post was yellow. I have been able to see blue flowers in my frontyard.
The plants are rosemary cultivar "Blue Lagoon".

It is rain today. I could not see any special happenings in the winter greenhouse but I took two photos in this morning.
They are young Astrophytum species.

Inside of greenhouse is relatively warm and very dry because watering is stopped in winter.
Mealybugs like this climate. My asterias have experienced mealybugs problem.
If it was spring or summer, I can wash mealybugs down by water but I can not use water now.

It takes time but I brush mealybugs off on each asterias one by one.
Photos are two super kabutos after brushed off mealybugs.
Super kabuto is a small asterias, 10 cm in diameter or so but two super kabutos on photos are around 15 cm in diameter.

I have continued to brush mealybugs off from asterias.

Young asterias change body shape during growing but old ones also change body shape.
I attached two super kabuto photos as typical references.
Seeds of both asterias was sown in 2004. They are changing their body shapes.

The post for today is miracle kabutos.

I bought 30 seeds of ultra white miracke kabuto and sowed in 2004. Unfortunately just one seedling showed the character of miracle kabuto.
I crossed with some other asterias forms including dream kabuto.
Currently around 40% of seedlings show the character of miracle kabuto, rest are dream kabutos.
You can judge the asterias is a miracle kabuto or not from seedlings but you can see the true appearence when the asteras reached to a mature age.
Flecking mutation will start on matured miracle kabutos.

I took two photos of matured miracle kabutos in this morning.
Photo 2 shows the original miracle kabuto's character shown on the name tag of seeds.
Both miracle kabutos are around 15 cm in diameter.

Good morning Hanazono :) Very nice plants. Do they have the same parents, all of them? Or rather do the plants in picture nr.1 have the exact same parents? In other words, are they true siblings?

And the same for the plants in picture nr.2? Are these true siblings,as in from the same seed pod and with the same father all of them?

G'morning Mrs. Green,
Do they have the same parents, all of them? Or rather do the plants in picture nr.1 have the exact same parents? In other words, are they true siblings?
All cacti on the photo No. 1 are rooted off-sets.
My freind gave me seeds and so I do not know the history of seeds.
Since this species, fukuryu was now for me, I grafted seedlings and scion made many off-sets.
Photo 1 is rooted off-sets collected from 4 scions.

And the same for the plants in picture nr.2? Are these true siblings,as in from the same seed pod and with the same father all of them?
All of them were propagated from seeds harvested from my myriostigmas.
Pollen supplier (father) is just one plant(A).
Pollen receiver (mother) are 3 plants(C,D,E).
It is not simple but they are siblings which is different mothers, same father, same grandfather and same grandmother.

Mother of C,D,F is (B).
C,D,F were created by B x A.

A is the grandfather and father of myriostigmas on the photo 2.

I introduce my hanazono kabutos today.

Photo 1: hanazono kabuto, sown seed in 2005, 16 cm in diameter currently.

Photo 2: It is a normal old asterias which starts to show the character of hanazono, sown seed in 2003, 14 cm in diameter currently.

Hanazono means a flower garden. One hanazono kabuto opened 17 flowers at once in my place.
Hanazono kabuto shows the character when the cactus reached to a mature age normally if it was not grafted.
I tried to find the history of hanazono kabuto but I could not.

Today's photos are normal old asterias.
Normal asterias show the best looking when they are around 10 years old. Older than this age may shows an abnormal body shape.
Two asterias on photos are very old, sown seeds in 2003. They are stopped watering from May.

Photo 1: 16 cm in diameter, 13 cm tall
Photo 2: 16 cm in diameter

I took two photos of Oibo rensei ruri kabutos which seeds were sown in 2004.

Oibo: Large areole, seed tag said 8 mm in diameter
Rensei: Many aleores in a line
Ruri: Body colour is azure.

Unfortunately only two of this species have survived. I sowed seeds collected from these caci but it did not work well.
I may try again.
The body colour was azure when they were young. The current colour is shown on photos.
The size of an aleore is around 7 mm in diameter.

Ruri kabuto is relatively small cactus.

Photo 2: 11 cm in diameter
