looking for Coleocephalocereus purpureus

Post by stupidlazydog »

Anyone know where I could get Coleocephalocereus purpureus seeds or a plant? I have been looking for a while with no luck. I did finally buy some seed off Ebay from a seller that did not have stellar feedback. Needless to say, none germinated. I have C. aureus and would really like to find C. purpureus as well.

I tried to google it and found this picture https://www.flickr.com/photos/shoalcree ... 032525163/
Then went to https://www.flickr.com/people/shoalcreeksucculents/ and found the link to etsy https://www.etsy.com/shop/ShoalCreekSucculents and facebook.
I didn't find C. purpureus in her current stocks but you cat try to contact to her.

Have you located any yet?

If not, I have some seeds I can spare. They germinate really well.

I would love some seeds! I haven't been able to locate any - seeds or plants. Just let me know the cost, or, if you'd rather, I have some interesting Astrophytum seedlings and/or pachypodium seedlings I could send you.

Hello Guys,
I am also struggling to find any Coleocephalocereus purpureus seeds on-line. Does anyone out there have some?

both succseed and cactusstore/pheonixdesertseeds have some in stock
https://www.succseed.com/en/seeds-cacti ... -359.html?
https://phoenixdesertseeds.com/product/ ... purpureus/ you may want to send a message and ask if they have smaller portions available (unless you want to sow 1000 or 5000 seeds  ).

NOTE - Succseed shop is closed for the summer.
And, the seeds referenced from Phoenix Desert Seeds are actually Austrocephalocereus (Micranthocereus) purpureus, which is not the same species as Coleocephalocereus purpureus.

My mistake! I assumed the two were synonymous and didn't check to see if it was true.
