American Society Zoom Talk

Post by DaveW »

Many of us watch the American Society Zoom talks which like the BCSS ones are open to all not just society members. For those of us outside the USA don’t get caught out as they have just changed from PST (Pacific Standard Time) to PDT (Pacific Daylight Time) just as we Brits change from GMT to BST (British Summer Time) However they do it a few weeks earlier than we do since our clocks do not go forward until March 26th. Therefore this Saturday the American Zoom talk will be at 5pm for Brits. For other time zones Google a PDT to your time zone converter.

When British clocks go forward after the 26th we will be back to our normal relationship with the CSSA talks of 6pm.

For those who have not logged in to the CSSA Zoom Talks before, unlike the BCSS ones you have to use "To Register for the Webinar "Click Here" and will receive the entry code by return. These talks are live and seldom recorded so can only usually be viewed at the time stated.

In the past these Zoom talks were not recorded, meaning you could only view at the time stated which was difficult for those whose time zones conflicted with them. However a few are now recorded and if accessible from your area as long as they remain available the American Society and British Society talks by Jackson Burkholder are available here:-

This one is in parts but as one part ends after a moment the other parts follow. It deals more with the morphology of cacti than cultivation.
