Thank you for the information about pest management you shared, I really appreciate it. It reinforces what I've already noticed with my own, much smaller scale growing, particularly indoors.

Also, Photo 328985 from the post on April 04, 2023 is perfect to me. I love Rebutias/Sulcorebutias and small clumping cacti of all kinds and you have tables full of them! I bet they put on the most wonderful show when they flower.

Hope you are doing well and enjoying the warmer weather.

That Astrophytum producing new heads in the cut/rotted top section is pretty cool. I guess you don't water overhead or else the cup would fill and not drain? How long has this plant been growing like this?

Plus!: I love the flowers, even though I don't say so as often as you post them. Thanks.

Thanks Jerry,

of course this astrophytum hardly gets any water from above.
But it can not be avoided completely. The cavity is then quickly dry again.
The plant had a fungus in the crown area three or four years ago.
It came to rot, all in the winter. When I saw the damage, I was able to lift the "hood".
Under it had already formed a new epidermis.
Then nothing happened for two summers.
Last late summer, the new shoots began to grow.

Best regards and good wishes for you and your plants,
K.W.

Good evening dear plant friends,

the first two Sulcorebutia are blooming.
But there will still be a lot to do for the rest of the plants. . .

Good evening dear cacti-friends,

today a few photos from 24. May 2023.
Life returns to the plants.
Some are already blooming. Others have buds or are starting to grow.

I'm still not finished moving the plants out to the outdoor dining area. . .
But hopefully when fall comes, I will have all the plants out. . .

Is that art photography already? :D
