Mammillaria microhelia?
Mammillaria microhelia?
Found this today, really nice with the dark spines. Notice the small cactus in the pot, could this be a young one who hasnt developed the dark centrals yet or it is an elongata?

Re: Mammillaria microhelia?
The small cactus seedling in your pot might be Mammillaria vetula gracilis called thimble cactus, also known as M. gracilis fragilis. It is common in shops near me. I have noticed the pups from this clumping cactus falling into adjacent pots or on tables.
Re: Mammillaria microhelia?
As with M. elongata spination colour can vary. The only difference between M. microhelia and M. microheliops is really flower colour, one pink and the other yellow, therefore both are now considered M. microhelia.
