Please ID Euphorbia sp. blue stem

Post by PICH23 »

Hi everyone,
I need help identifying a species of Euphorbia. I’ve done some research, but I’m still not sure which species this plant could be. Here are the details:
  • It’s a large shrub that grows in clusters, with branches starting from the base.
  • The stems are green but covered in a powdery substance that makes them appear bluish.
  • New shoots have light green leaves without the powdery coating.
I’ve attached three photos showing the stems and flowers. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I'd say Euphorbia caerulescens or Euphorbia ledienii.

Cheers,

Thanks for the answer, but I think it's not correct, just because this type has much shorter thorns and the stem is quite straight.

Thanks a lot and here are some more pictures.
