Rooting of Ariocarpus off-sets

Post by Hanazono »

I grafted 24 seedlings of A. fissuratus cv godzilla in 2022. I will degraft them in October but 10 out of 24 have off-sets on lower part of scions. Off-sets have to be removed before the degrafting.

I removed 2 off-sets in this morning as the trial and prepared them for the rooting. It was the 1st time but a rooting powder hormone was used.

1st photo: a typical scion with an off-set
2nd photo: drying off-sets, around 6 cm in diameter

It seems the rooting of an off-set which was set on Aug 14th was OK now.
