Hi guys
Just getting back into cacti and at the same time, reorganising the images I have of the plants I had in the Land of Oz.
This has led to a bit of confusion, in my ancient and tiny mind.
This one was planted in an outdoor bed I had in Sydney, and had it labelled as G. mihanovichii.
This one, recently purchased, was labelled G. mihanovichii, but looks totally different. Explainable by totally different growing environments, but definately in the Mihanovichii group.
As a confirmation, I asked on another forum and was advised that neither are G. m, but are, in fact, G. fredrichii.
In the pics from Sydney, however, I have these images:-
The first is clearly labelled G. fredrichii (not my label), when I first got it.
The next 2 pics are the same plant 2 years later.
To me, it bears no similarity to the others.
Definately a Gymno, by the chin below the areole, but which one?
Anyone willing to suggest what any of them are?
TIA
Fof

Re: Gymnocalycium IDs please
Gymnocalycium mihanovichii subsp. friedrichii is the pink-flowered form, regular Gymnocalycium mihanovichii has yellow to green flowers.
I think the last one is a form of Gymnocalycium anisitsii.
