Hi all,
I want to show you pictures of a seedling of Mammillaria hahniana, grafted on Nopalea cochenillifera. The seedling was only 3 weeks old, when it was grafted. This kind of grafts are also known as hypocotyl grafts, or micro grafts.
The seedling was only attached with kling-wrap for 2 days
Same plant, one year after and with buttons!
Best regards
Alex

Daiv,
here we don´t have many nurseries growing cacti, but you can buy wild collected plants on the popular market! That's the point why I'm growing native and exotic cacti for sale, so that people shall stop to buy wild collected cacti. Also, my cacti, raised from seed are easier to grow for the "normal collector".
Best regards

Interesting, So was that a fruit you grafted the seedling to or a new young pad?
I have just recently grafted (I hope) my first seedling to an opuntia humifusa, but I just chopped the top off of a single rooted pad. Do the seedlings take easier to a new young pad?

Forget the dog...Beware of the plants!!!
