I hate to be a stickler for the rules, but some of the pics posted for the contest don't qualify as *small or low growing opuntiads*.
Yes, the plant may be young and conform to the rules as is, but it's not a small or low growing specie.
I will work with you and extend the contest submissions for a few days to allow you to change your photos.
(Deadline for pic changes will be Friday, Feb. 20, 2009)
The photos in question are:
plantlover: Need to know what specie that is.
mycacti: The C. fulgida mammillata is really borderline, however the O. microdasys are acceptable.
vlani: Sorry, C. echinocarpa does not qualify.
Saguaro123: Sorry, C. acanthocarpa var. thornberi does not qualify.
Wayra: Sorry, A. subulata does not qualify.

Darryl, I'm pretty sure his plant is O. Humifusa. You might remember this thread of his below.CoronaCactus wrote:I hate to be a stickler for the rules, but some of the pics posted for the contest don't qualify as *small or low growing opuntiads*.

Speaking of small opuntiads, take a look at these recent additions to the guide from a fellow in Argentina:

All Cacti are succulents, but not all succulents are Cacti
