Recently, I just made a few upgrades to the collection. I brought a new table for repotting plants and treating ones with diseases,
Under the gazebo, I put the plants on tables, so they can receive more sunlight and so the pots can stay clean.
A. myriostigma
A. asterias
Tulbagia acutiloba, gave me another flower
Steno eruca in it's new home
Turbinicarpus pseudomachele subsp. krainzianus var, minima pup, deciding to give some buds:
Lobivia schieliana fruit
Recently, I was using the hose to spray a C. spinosior that had scale on it. Later, I felt irritated everywhere! After I looked in the mirror, they were glochids all over my face and neck!

Byron, I'm jeleaous of your Astrophytum myriostigma 'Bishop's Cap.' It's a beauty. Mine has put on some good growth this year, but not a sign of blooms. I've found the year-round horticultural oil spray is the best solution for scale and mealy bugs. I hit the plant hard with it, and keep it out of the sun for two days. Tony

Nice plants and flowers!
Those glochids are something else! I never would have thought that spraying water on them would scatter them.

My mind works in mysterious ways.

Yes, even when I'm watering them, the dirt, leaves, and perlite stick to the pot and make it look very unattractive. I'm now a member of the CSSSJ and plan to enter plants to the show next year, so I have to keep the pot and plant in show/contest quality.iann wrote:Isn't it strange how pots on the floor are always dirty after it rains
