Hi- I have a couple of seed grown pulchellas that stay dry under an outside porch and love the cold in those conditions. They also do very well grafted on O. compressa or other hardy stock, so yours should really take off.

Hi Peterb,

So is your pulchellas in the ground or in pots? I have 2 in the ground but out in the open, I fear the winter moisture will do them in.
Advice is always appreciated :wink:

Hey Bill-

Mine are in pots, and I suspect you are right, that the KC moisture would make them rot pretty quickly. In Santa Fe, they can't be successfully grown in the open, but if they are bone dry they seem to do very well.

I might yank them out of the ground and just grow them in pots. Would be a shame to loose them at this point.
