What plant do you want most, but have been unable to find?
Re: What plant do you want most, but have been unable to find?
I think two of the plants I am after that are not too common in the UK at the moment are a replacement Yavia and Mammillaria hernandezii, but have had both in the past.
Also a start of a genuine Disocactus ackermannii, originally from authenticated wild collected stock or seed. Not the hybrid that goes around as "Epiphyllum 'Ackermanii'" or Disocactus X hybridus 'Ackermannii' and a few other names which Britton and Rose mistakenly described as the genuine species.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disocactus_ackermannii
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disocactu ... 7_hybridus
David Hunt maintains that any "Epiphyllum" that produces triangular stems is a hybrid, claiming all true or species Epiphyllum's have flat leaf like stems or cladodes. There is not a lot of true Epiphyllum blood in what are sold as "Epiphyllums" or "Orchid Cacti", being mostly Disocactus x Heliocereus hybrids originally.

Keith was looking for a Lobivia haematantha v. rebutioides which reminded me of one plant I would like back, a crested Lobivia haematantha v. rebutioides
The regular Plant has nice brown skin and red flowers I had this crested plant for years and even made cuttings of it which I sold.
But it succumbed one winter and I have no bits of it left. It's a fast grower and does flower once in awhile.
The plant below is another plant that I wish I could have back, but I'm afraid it was one of a kind.
Echinopsis hybrid The layered flowers are unique
Other plants I would love to have
Aztekium valdezii
That new Mammillaria with the scale like tubercles
Peperomia hutchinsonii

Seed raised plants of Aztekium valdezii are becoming available in the EU Craig. A lot now in cultivation seem to originate from the ELK Convention. However I picked up a small graft from a collector who raised them from Malej Jarda seed. He is a good seed raiser and grafter, but the plant was not cheap since the seed is still expensive, $5.02 for 10 dust like seeds (= £3.85p) though they will cheapen in future years.

Plant less than one inch across but still flowering.

Re: What plant do you want most, but have been unable to find?
Orbea ciliata which has interesting cresting where it makes a donut shape. I have never seen it.
Re: What plant do you want most, but have been unable to find?
Mine would have to be Cochemiea Poselgeri and Ferocactus Robustus. I can never seem to find one. Also any haageocereus I don't have
Re: What plant do you want most, but have been unable to find?
Xerophyta retrinervis comes to mind
We sailed through endless skies
Stars shine like eyes
The black night sighs
The moon in silver trees
Falls down in tears
Light of the night
The earth, a purple blaze
Of sapphire haze in orbital ways...

Aiko, Bulbophile has some of your desired species listed in their seed bank as of now, but the prices are high.
My long list has a lot of well-kown "impossible to find, impossible to grow" plants, especially so in Connecticut...
The hot and hard ones (for CT at least):
Euphorbia horwoodii
Euphorbia piscidermis
Euphorbia turbiniformis
Euphorbia mosaica
Pseudolithos caput-viperae
Pseudolithos harardheranus
Pseudolithos horwoodii
Dendrosicyos socotrana (ordered from Mesa Garden this year, idk if they'll still be in stock when my order is processed )
Uebelmannia buiningii (I sowed seeds this past week, we'll see...)
Dorstenia ellenbeckiana
Lavrania haagnerae
Ceropegia bosseri
Ceropegia simonae
Echidnopsis (the entire genus, especially the urn-flowered ones)
The cooler and rare ones (easier culture up here than those above):
Monsonia penicillata
Pelargonium caroli-henrici (getting seeds soon maybe)
Pelargonium lobatum
Haworthia sordida
Haworthia koelmanorium v mcmurtyi
Bulbine lolita
Bulbine cremnophila
Bulbine esterhuizenii
Adromischus nanus
Othonna hallii
Othonna cacalioides
Othonna armiana
Othonna hederifolia
Tylecodon longipes
Tylecodon sulphureus
Tylecodon tuberosus
Drimia acarophylla
Eriospermum titanopsoides (ordered seeds earlier this year)
Haemanthus nortieri
Peperomia macrorhiza v liliputana
Peperomia dolabella
there's too many more, but that's the top of my list, which i actually made at one point (half for hotter, half for cooler)
Re: What plant do you want most, but have been unable to find?
I got this from Craig at C&D. I think it was common years ago and fell out of style. Now I have to get it to grow up and clump.
