Re: My GreenHouse Build.
I spent an hour this morning soaking the frame with the termite treatment.
Around 1pm I continued the assembly. It took an hour to install the front/door wall. I had to take a break. 104 degrees again and I got a bit too much sun for some reason.
I came back to it at 3pm and Spent 2 hours on the side wall and louvered window. This was a frustrating period. Half way though I realized I had installed the wrong upright columns on the front where the door frame goes. So I had to change those out. Then installing the louvered window required removing the "L" where the window frame members had to go. The long side header is 2 parts. An 8ft and 4ft extension. They are seamed together with 2 flat metal pieces. So to slide in the polycarbonate panels in the side extrusions I had to loosen those up. So today was spent undoing and redoing things. But all and all it is still been relatively easy to assemble.

Re: My GreenHouse Build.
Great progress so far, Mike! I'm envious. We converted our laundry room into a seed starter for winter veggies indoors. Mostly lettuce right now. Not sure what my wife has in store.
The lighted plant rack was going to be my indoor home for the Mexican and S. American cacti which need to come inside this week.
We had our first frost over the weekend while away in Capitol Reef Nat. Park. The cukes, zukes, tomatoes and butternut vines froze.

looking good ! I would love a greenhouse like this but sadly due to my limited space, a shelf shall suffice.

Re: My GreenHouse Build.
I think I've wanted a greenhouse since I was a teenager. Then it would have been exotic houseplants. Probably if I had really wanted it, I could have build one on our deck space in Los Angeles. That could have been used for houseplants and succulents. The shade would have prevented cactus growing.
It's amazing how all my plants have reacted to the desert heat and sun. As of yesterday only 2 have succumbed to the heat.
Having the greenhouse will be a great help in controlling the environment.

Re: My GreenHouse Build.
I have a question about greenhouse shelving. looking through hundreds of pictures and having been in many why does shelving start so high above the ground? Why not start it a few inch's above ground level allowing one more growing area? Or is the ground considered a "shelf"
Thanks
Thanks

My are at table height with a lower shelf. It is easier for working on your plants and the lower shelf I put younger plants, cuttings and storage. It's your greenhouse and do what works for you. I have one greenhouse with three shelves, but I'm removing the top shelf out due to not being able to see my plants without a step ladder.

Re: My GreenHouse Build.
Yep, most shelving for greenhouses is for walk through working. It makes for ease of watering and working with the plants as cactushobbyman mentioned.
Back in my college years I worked for North Carolina State University in the Soybean Research Division. Lots of greenhouse work, soil mixing in a cement mixer and all that other fun stuff ( manual labor ). All our plants were on waist high tables with heavy duty screen tops for water drainage.

Re: My GreenHouse Build.
It's located in Parwich, Derbyshire, England...so metric probably applies . I estimate a meter high and 1.2 deep.
Or for us Yanks ...a yard high by 4 feet deep.
That's my guesstimate. HTH.

Re: My GreenHouse Build.
Looking at it like I am standing right in the aisle, I can't imagine even reaching the plants on the wall shelf without getting skewered. Some real long arms ?...or a mechanical gripper? Who knows?
Re: My GreenHouse Build.
For small cactus pots a fishhook disgorger works really well.
