Had a thought: How about symmetry? Top views of columnars, patterns of spines, stuff like that?

A lot of the photos on the General forum are images of things that are in flower; how about a photo contest for photos of buds instead of open flowers?

Hey Daryl,
This topic was a blast the last time. I'd be up for another and a lot of people have signed up over the last year that didn't get in on the last one. There is a lot of creativity flowing all over the forum. So what do you think????

I was going to suggest something along similar lines. Oddity/strange/mutant in terms of what is expected or the norm from the plant. I suppose a picture of what it should have looked like and then your mutant form as well.

Since nothing's been picked yet: I'm thinking 'Patterns'. Could be the pattern of spines on the side of a barrel cactus or the markings on the stem of an euphorbia or a line of saguaros against the sky or the dots on the head of a lithops or... (Anything but "top views" since we did that already.)
