My cacti seedlings are getting kind or redish-brownish. I can I prevent that from happening. Do they need less light, more fresh air.

Well, I do think that the temperature may be the problem.

We keep our little guys at 80 deg f (soil temp). until they are ready to move up from the seed flat. They don't always get moved up right away, but when they start looking like cacti, then they get taken off of the heat.
Cold temps make even big cacti look funny, so if the little seedlings start to change color, then its no surprise. I'm guessing that the seedlings may be echincereus or echinocactus.

So they need more heat. This week and the next the temperature is going to be in the low 80's to high 70's.

Mark,
I'm speaking of min and max temps. They want 24 hour heat. In nature most will die in the winter, that's why some grow better at certain elevations and certain latitudes on the earth as they are better able to put up with what nature deals.

So they need heat all day? For how many days.
