Noob Here!

Post by Ant »

Hi everyone,

My name is Anthony and I live in Sweden (originally from the UK)
I love cactus but, believe it or not never had any until recently. I am now bitten by the Cactus bug and have about 12 cacti/succulents! I joined your fantastic site to learn how to "look after them" and get some ideas for new ones I could maybe grow here in Sweden!"

Welcome Anthony!! :hello2:
I'm fairly new here myself. The same thing happened to me and the collection is growing now ;)
I'm sure you're going to love this place. It's full of ideas and useful information as to how to care for your plants, and full of wonderful people too!
Glad to have you on board :D

Thanks for the very warm welcome everyone, your site is excellent and I look forward to being a part of your community :D

I will post some pics when I can, I do have 3 taken yesterday of 3 cactus I brought recently. They are in small pots at the moment but hope to move them into a bigger one shortly. The pics are'nt that great i'm, afraid, sorry

I have been told they are:

Ferocactus

Cereus

Astrophytum

Again sorry the pics are rubbish, the bug has hit me hard and I am now looking for somewhere to display them instead of individual pots/containers :D

Nice new ones Anthony.
I'd guess Ferocactus emoryi for the first.
The second looks like a Pilosocereus sp. Don't think it's a Cereus.
The third is Astropytum capricorne.

I agree with Darryl - the second is very likely to be Pilosocereus azureus...
