Great topic! Cactus buds are always interesting to look at. I had trouble taking the photos, not enough close up capability. A couple also-rans:

Mesembs have such cool buds, I didn't know which to pick.

Frithia pulchra is one of my favourites and the buds are really cool.

Titanopsis have cool camouflage buds, but this shot has an obvious flaw.

Some species just don't concile what they have to offer, but technically, it is a bud. So it's acceptable :)

Nice buds everybody. :)

Looks like my Cintia Knizei which is the only one with buds is no match to everybody else's now. :(

I should start taking more pictures. :?
