ID [Columnar / Mammillaria / Euphorbia (?)]

Post by Escorpio »

Hi,
Would you help me to ID this three cactus?
1) I found many units similar but they don't agree exactly. Specially by the regular yellow spines.

2) I'm almost safe that it's a Mammillaria, but, which of them?

3) I've doubts that it's a cactus. It will be an Euphorbia?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I am not 100% sure, but My Guess on number one would be Echinopsis spachiana http://www.cactiguide.com/cactus/?genus ... =spachiana

However it also resembles a plant that I have that I have not been able to identify, but suspect Pilosocereus

For your number 2 see M. longimamma http://www.cactiguide.com/cactus/?genus ... longimamma

You're right on number three. Definately a Euphorbia here's your best bed for ID on that one http://www.desert-tropicals.com/Plants/ ... orbia.html

I Thank you a lot.
I supposed a Pilocereus too. Despite our doubts, I'm going to label it as Echinopsis Spachiana and then I'll check another aspects like flowers, fruits, stems, and so on to reconfirm or reclassify it again.
But, in the case of Mammillaria, I have doubts with variations of decipiens. What do you think about?
