Help!!

Post by erika »

Hi, I need help identifying this cactus. Also, can someone point me in the direction of care. I think it is a blooming cactus, but it has never bloomed. Thanks...

my "guess" would be Cereus peruvianus v. monstrose
but i could be wrong.
others here may have a better idea.
as far as care goes, looks like your doing a good job.
if its in the house all year it may never bloom :(
hope this helps.
Bob :)

Hi there,

I agree, Bob has got it spot on its Cereus peruvianus v. monstrose and a very nice speciman indeed. You certainly must have green fingers.

Sorry you asked for some cultural help with your plant. By the look of the plant we should be asking you for help. Just keep doing what you have been doing. As I said before it is a beautiful specimen.

By the way the "monstrose" form very rarely flowers, but if it does they will be white and open at night. But forget the flowers enjoy the plant.

Thank you all, so very much for your input. I cannot tell you much I appreciate it. The plant was a gift from my late Grandmother, and I want it to have a good life. Again, Thank you.
