Lots of great plants! Cactus clubs are sure great. How else would you see this quality and variety?
All Cacti are succulents, but not all succulents are Cacti

John,
Great pics and glad to see you there. That was the place to see and buy the really good plants.
Bill

PS The Echinocactus texensis in your last pic was almost 12" diameter. You don't see those many places. It sold for $50.00 in the auction.

Great plants! I love going to shows, always amazing to see what people have accomplished.

Up around Roswell NM there are enormous Echinocactus texensis like barrel cacti. (there's a photo of one in this older post with a lighter for size comparison).

peterb,
Yes, that is a great Echinocactus. However, it's not a texensis but a horizonthalonius. I've never seen one that tall here in Texas.

hey MildBill, the texensis is the 11th picture down. Yes, some of the horizonthalonius in that area are like small barrels too! But I was most impressed by the texensis, which usually I have seen are about 6-8 inches across and very flat. In this area around Roswell there are some "barrel"-like texensis, really stunning.

Sorry peterb, I didn't go down the pics far enough and just looked at the first one with a lighter next to it. That is indeed the tallest E. texensis I have ever seen.

Lots of nice pics also. Other than the tall E. texensis, we have all of those plants in Texas. As a mater of fact I have them all in my collection. Interesting that the C. vivipera look just like the ones around North Central Texas.
Thanks,
Bill
