Neat plants Hob and masscactus. Wonder what the deal is with our pink/red gymno's?? Anywho I like em and really hope I can keep it alive.

This greener gymno opened up one of its buds today. Didnt fully open but still a winner in my book :)

And I was lucky enough to come home from Target (of all places) with this big ol mamma jamma today!! To give an idea on size, the pot the redish gymno is in is 6.25inches.

The special cacti I mentioned in the previous post that are almost in bloom are still not ready. Soon I hope I will have 2 fabulous photos to share.

mammoth of a cactus! I have bought most of my cacti from Target...it's really hit or miss most of the time because they don't care for them any different than any other plant. Still love the store and the new acquisitions Dustin!

The magenta flowers with the metalic sheen are magnificent. Of course the others are no slouches either, but way cool purple!

thanks guys. The camera really didnt pick up the true color of the purple blooms. Each petal was pure solid purple. I've never seen anything like it before.

Dustin, do you use your camera's flash?

I have found that the flash on mine whites everything out and makes things much less colorful.

BTW nice flowers, even if they are whited-out. I know its not your fault, stupid cameras do that...

And also is that an L.w or is that a different Loph? I like the flower on it whichever one it is :)

Peter I do not use flash as that always whites out the color  I think its the guy that made the camera in his little lab didnt add the color capability to capture cactus blooms. lol.

That super-pupping Gymno is quite a sight to behold. So often, when they grow weird like that, they don't seem to flower.

Looking good, Dustin!
Strombos, Thelos and Lophs oh my!

At any given time I come accros about a dozen geckos around the garden. It's pretty funny to watch them run across the grass. They almost hover over it they're moving so fast :)

Dustin, nice pictures and yeah I agree. Must be that cameras aren't designed to take great photos of cacti. I use the macro setting on mine a lot more. I never use the flash, like you said it whites out images.

Dustin, nice, I have seen lizards around my place a lot lately.

Darryl, we have those Zebratailed looking things that run upwards of 40MPH. I know this cause I tried to hit one with a golf cart and they could do around 35MPH or so and those lizards were faster then the golf cart...of course it could have been my sucky golf cart at that place, but...
I tried to let them let us have a race, but they did a few years before and some idiot fell out and so we couldn't do it anymore hahaha
