I think the poor grade is probably the fiberglass stuff. That is readily available and just useless stuff. Very fragile and ugly too!

Yeah, I know what you mean Daiv. It was pretty crappy. The worst one that I remember was tinted (I think green) and was horrible. It cracked easily. If it was windy they blew away and all that was left were where it was screwed in if that's how the people did it.

I'm most likely building my cold frame tomorrow. It will be a 3ft x 2ft x 15in (short side) 22.5 (tall side) angled cedar box with an acrylic door on top with an automatic vent opener.

I'm very tempted to keep it outside during winter and heat it. The plants are in pots and have a preferred low temp of 45+F. I'm in zone 5b. Any thoughts on how to heat it?

I would prefer to go for electric heating or some kind of passive heating.
