Minnesota State Fair Cactus, Succulent & Plant Show

Post by PapaBearJay »

It's coming!

I'm thinking about it. More and more. Now sure, I don't have anything particularly amazing in my collection, but just to have someone come and look at them would be awesome. Ya know?

Anyone else plan on going to the Minnesota State Fair?

Thursday and Friday, August 26 and 27, 2010

If you enter I'd love to hear/see how you do!

I should have made that a bit more clear, the contest is the 26 & 27, the state fair is like 10 days of awesomeness!

Harriet: Me too! Maybe my seedlings will have sprouted by then, so if they do, I might be inclined to put the others in.

Well, you might not be able to enter the contest, or drink alcohol, but you could still come to see, and experience the fair!

I like that everyone seems to be starting at younger ages time and time again.

Yes well, now that I think about it, I wouldn't be able to enter many, only two of them....but they don't need to know that!

I think we've all decided that no one wants anything from North Dakota!

...

Just kidding, I went to college in Moorhead, and that's about as close as I ever wanted to get.

I was born in the worst blizzard in Ohio's history...is it any wonder that I love weather, and esp love living where it's hot and dry most of the year???????

As for age, I am in the middle, I am 32 and I got my first cactus when I was about 10 or maybe even younger. It died because I didn't know how to take care of it. Oh well. At least now that I am interested in keeping mine alive most of mine are fine. I have lost a few cuttings and some of the transplanted saguaros, but all in all everything is good.
Here's to you, all you insidious creatures of green..er I mean cacti.
