Hoodia pilifera subsp. annulata

Post by Martin_Heigan »

Good evening all,

Here is Hoodia pilifera subsp. annulata (ex Hort Walter Sisulu Botanical Garden) from the Karoo near Aberdeen. This is another mid-winter flowering Stapeliad.

Great photographs Martin. I have only been lucky enough to see the plant in books up till now. Your photographs are much much better.

As usual, beautiful photography Martin, those flowers are exquisite, & I love the texture, what is the size of the flowers, they appear to be quite small.

Yes, they are not very large (but not very small either). The flowers are about 1 inch across.

Thanks Martin, that helps me get it into perspective, I'd love to get my hands on one of those!
