Weniger's books

Are Cacti of the Southwest and Cacti of Texas basically the same thing? They look very similar to me, without having either in front of me to compare in detail.

_Cacti of the Southwest_ includes incredibly detailed taxonomic notes, history and geographical observations. _Cacti of Texas_ is much abbreviated. IMO, the only reason to read through Weniger's work is the insight he provides on a wide variety of very finely separated geographical forms that are no longer accepted as valid taxa. This whole angle is entirely missing from _Cacti of Texas_.

Thanks. I see I have been fooled by the almost identical table of contents
