Thanks for the info guys, I really will learn my way around the net one day. Too busy playing with spikey plants lol.

Is it worth joining the BCSS? I live near Bristol so I have a branch not too far away.

They'll let you go as a visitor if you want to check it out. I was a member for over a decade before I went to a meeting - I was happy with the journal and the seed list. But go now and really enjoy it - in fact, I'd better get ready - mine starts in 1/2 an hour!

Just phone up one of the contacts so they know you're coming. And I'd try to lever a sample journal out of them so you can judge if it's for you.

http://cactusplus.ecrater.com/ <- Astrophytums and more

Post by Peyote Pete »

I just bought a Super Kabuto from http://cactusplus.ecrater.com/

I am very happy with their services. Their shipping was lightning fast, they shipped the same day I put my order in. They will answer questions very quickly, and very friendly to talk with.

I highly recommend them to anyone interested in some astrophytums. Ed is the owner of the shop, he is a real good guy.

For the many list members in Australia, I found this seed supplier who has a *fascinating* website, but an amazing selection of cactus seed:

A very good place to buy is http://www.coronacactus.com/ or their ebay store: http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/coronacac ... omZQQ_mdoZ

Fast shipping, great plants, excellent prices. What more can you ask for? Here is a group shot of the plants I received recently. All were in great condition with healthy, established root systems.

A hungarian dealer offers these plants for sale: http://www.kaktuszgyujtok.hu/index.php? ... rumtid=107
Do you think, they're from his own seed sowing?

nope! There are a couple of cute grafted ones at the bottom of the page. The larger polycephalus and horizonthalonious are almost certainly dug out of the ground. Someday, the desert will just be one big hole! :-(

Kika, that top dressing looks very familiar. Did you get it from Cactus Jungle?

Cactus Jungle is a great nursery to buy plants and homemade supplies in the SF Bay Area. They sell their cacti in Terra Cotta pots so you don't have to worry about potting them when you get home. Their homemade supplies are very helpful as well, and the owner and employees are very knowledgeable.
