I somehow missed these too. MJ those are some neat pics. Any updates on the plants? I assume it has at least warmed up a little bit right?

Peter - All of the cacti and agaves are fine. The ice coat did them no harm. Thanks for asking, though.

At last it will warm up, with seventies forecast starting Sunday.

Trichocereus 'Flying Saucers' has begun to bloom in my greenhouse.

MJ cool, I am glad that all your plants are fine. It's been warm here too lately. It has been cold here, during the past few winters, so I am careful with my plants, I bring most that are in pots inside, I Dont want them to die. Maybe I am wussy about it, but so far most of them are still alive. Also it tends to rain and then go down below freezing here so wet cold is worse than dry cold as well.
Need to get my own greenhouse then I Wont have to worry.

MJ - Needed to tell you I lost the big ($$) Fero. wisliz. over late Winter -- to much "up & down" ( 30's --> low 20's. Planted too late (mid-Sept) - & "Hope" didn't help get it established any better than listening to wisdom of Forum, i.e. get planted by beginning of Aug -- @ the latest! Now have a new smaller one in, along with a Echinocactus horizon. along side. New spines out if wisliz. already :D Going to get a 2 1/2" diameter Echinocac. texensis in next few weeks. Trying to get a few of the Chollas in today. Had 30F last 2 a.m.'s & had to "retreat" indoors with some of the most sensitive plants, but big Golden Barrel stayed out with tarp over. 70's next 10 days -- I "think" we're good finally. :-k Back @ Racetrack, so posts will be scare -- best of luck with all your wonderful plants in NC! =D>
Once bitten by the cactus collecting/growing bug, there is no known cure!
There's no 12 step programme for Cactaholics...so I shall just have to get some more!!

Phew! That's a lot of "goings on" there Hoteidoc.

Hope the F. wsilizeni makes a good showing this year, along with all the other nifty cacti.

We dropped to 40F - I reckon the same time you dropped to 30F. I agree, that should be it until autumn drops a hint.
