Depends on how you look at it Maja , in fact it is a very light yellow or very yellowish white.
Might be a hybrid - ? I´m not into Astrophytum very much.

Here is another picture of the same plant from a different day

As I commented on my posted image, this was a really tough choice. My first problem was to look at all the candidates that I love dearly.

Not so simple a task but I was initially sure that is would be here somewhere

Wow! Very nice Arios and other slow-growing plants!
A cactus and succulent collector who especially likes Ariocarpus. …Though I have a bit of everything! Want some pictures? See my flickr! I also do art and such.

Such a fine collection Gene! It sure took some time to built it up, didn´t it?
And many of them are flowering out of the usual cycle - some earlier and some later then the usual cactus.

Wow K W ... your place looks as crowded as mine.

Great selection showing many plants that are very happy with your enviornment and culture.

[Jens commented] some are flowering out of their normal cycle

The images I attached cover a period of about 7 months. The A. all flower in Sep-Oct here. It is our hot period after the cool ocean influenced summer mnoths. I would be interested to compare flowering times with you but think that they really won't be that different.

Cheers ... GeneS

Great plants K.W.,!

@GeneS : Yes Ariocarpus flower in fall here too but it sometimes isn´t that sunny and /or hot in Oktober and especially November. It depends whereabouts in Europe the cacti are grown.
It makes a difference of several degrees from nort to south if you only look at Gemany.
I always have problems flowering Ariocarpus with the lack of heat in the late season being in the North of Germany.
But sometimes it works out in spite of the low light and temps.
