I think this may satisfy both pink and purple theme this month. Mammillaria guelzowiana, as it bloomed last August.

This plant really went over the top in 2011 - after that it has only managed to produce a few flowers each season.

I found this plant nearby of Lake Powell in Arizona.
It was the very first time I've ever seen a Sclerocactus parviflorus in flower.
