Well I always first think about getting some new pictures just for the contest. Of course, I can't do that in winter. I'm not so sure I'll have any new pictures in time for the show here either. Next month for sure!

Went with Scleo polyancistrus, but could have gone with Echinomastus johnsonii from the same Death Valley trip last weekend. Beautiful flowers. Posting more pics from there and Toroweap soon.

Drosanthemum luederitzii? Might be. There is no D. luciae.

Thanks Ian....I've seen it sold around here as D. floribundum, luciae, and something else I can't remember.

D. floribundum (not to be confused with Delosperma floribundum) is everywhere in California! Very common in cultivation. No clue where the luciae bit comes from.

Oh wow, what a variety of pink flowered plants.
I especiallly liked the delicate flowers on the Sclerocactactus (growing in such a harsh environment) and the Anacampseros flower.
In fact I usually vote for a succulent flower in the contests in spite of the fact /or because I don´t grow any (well almost none). :-k

Here is another ceroid cactus

Again, a hard choice -- many flowers in this range - thelos, rebutia/sulco, matucana, ... on and on and on so, I stuck with what is flowing now.

Like several of you, I really like this for a pink show

And, here is another view of the Akersia, Seticereus, Cleistocactus, Borzicactus (pick one)
aurivillus, roseiflorus, humboltii, icosagonus ssp roseiforus (pick another)

Now that I think about it - nearly everything that is currently blooming is pink or purple. Soon the pinks will finish up and my yellows will get started. (My Opuntias are getting close to opening)

Great photos so far, everyone! Keep them coming!

Great flower pictures everybody.
@Gene: Very unusual and beautiful Akersia (is it now called Borzicactus?)

For me as a non native speaker it is hard to imagine the exact meaning of both pink and purple. Maybe some could show what those two colors are meant to look like.

Another example of (pink?)
