Good evening Arnold,

they are just cacti.
When I see how people lose everything in natural disasters. Then the mice are not really important for me.

I also just show this problem to other plant friends to show that is quite normal and happens again and again.
And it is not the end of the world!

Thank you for your kind words!

Best regards

Good evening Harald,

I do not have a forklift with me on the roof garden. . . #-o
My greenhouses are on the roof of my company. The stairs lead to the roof and to my office.
Since the visitor knows directly what to expect. . . (in winter! In the summer they are struck by the sight of the plants! :D )

I strive to find the shortest paths for bringing in the plants.
So I do not need much help, but one or two colleagues help me, of course.

The mouse problem gets smaller and the mouse-hunter's actions begin to take effect.

Best regards

K.W.

Good evening dear cacti friends,

today, November 18th, 2019, we have finally brought the Cleistocactus strausii to safety before the winter.
I've had the group for 25 years. Unfortunately the biggest part of it in winter 2007/8 froze on my balcony at home.
The smaller "leftovers" have done quite well. Last winter, the group still fit in the greenhouse.
This year she has to spend the winter in the wagon hall. From the terrace we took the elevator to the ground floor.
I hope that there is no rot and the Cleistocactus comes back on the roof in the spring.
Next year, I will build his own greenhouse for him, then the transport will be canceled. . .

Now there are no spectacular flowers anymore. And suddenly the inconspicuous beauties fall into the eye.

Good evening Edwin,

yes, life for cacti in Germany is very tough. . .

Best wishes

K.W.

PS  :) Was fun, look at the date of the picture; it is winter - rest period, no light necessary.

A good thing about winter is that the sun shines (in between the many dark and dull days) at a low angle. So theoretically some light beams could actually reach under the tables.
