K.W.-Just curious, how often do you repot your E. decaryi? Mine seem to need it every other year. I can actually see the imprint of the below soil rhizomes(?) on the plastic pot now. I hesitate to repot so close to fall/winter.

it is repotted every three or four years.
I try not to repot so often, disturbs the plants AND makes a lot of work. . .

Last time I repotted my Euphorbia plants in April 2021, they did get set back for a few months. They are all doing great now, but one is going to burst its pot. The roots have really grown and are pushing out the sides of the pot. This is that plant when I repotted it into a 5" diameter pot.

Here it is almost one year ago on Oct 11, 2022, 1.5 years after repotting.

Repotting has been more common this year for me, lots of small root mealie outbreaks I've been able to track with careful watering and observing runoff. Really exciting for iceberg type plants too.

Good evening dear cacti-friends,

the last three months have been very challenging for me and my plants.
I had already reported that there are some mice in the greenhouses.
The plague got worse from week to week.
Many plants, old plants, beautiful plants were destroyed.
I have closed the mouse holes, put out poison, set up traps.
Nothing helped!
Every day the mice ate 0.5Kg of poison, none went into a trap.
Every day more dug up and eaten plants.
My despair grew little by little.
For this reason, I no longer wanted to show photos of the plants.

I have never seen that before
I tried blue cheese for mice traps and it worked better than anything I tried before

I was going to say that the last page before this one had more succulent species presented than ever could be imagined

Really sorry to hear this KW. I use an electronic device that generates a high frequency sound transmitted through the electrical wiring in the space being protected. I had mice in my walls and plugged this device in and they left within a few days and never returned. You can even run extension cords in areas not wired sufficiently.

What could help is the smell of cats. I know you have cats walking around. But they probably don't come everywhere. What could help is to lay down cat hairs where you suspect mice are. The smell will chase them away.

Some modern rat poisons make the rats or mice super thirsty I wonder if that's why the little buggers ate the roots on your cactus ?

I mostly have rat problems and use rat traps baited with anything that's hard to remove from the trap lever.

We cought our mice with pieces of bread with Nutella in the traps. Maybe its worth a try.
