Ha ha ha Onzuka

No we went down by train and back. But thanks for the laff.

:D

.

While Kim and I were down there Alan randomly picked his guitar and broke into song on several occasion. One was more like a miniture Acoustic set. First he started with his fancy guitar with a lump of brass around his finger and sliding it up and down the fret.

Then he ended it with an Acoustic.

I got a 17 minute iPhone memo recording of most of it - Mahatma ghandi " gutted " + his first song.

If I ever figure out how to make an audio clip with pictures and upload onto You Tube , we we shall see.

I went to a Wood Brothers concert last month. That was pleasant.

I'm nuts about the Beatles.

I'm also listening to Tom Waits and the White Stripes recently.

Right now I am listening to https://bluegrasscountry.org/ on in the background. I listen at work too. Mike Kear from Australia is the host for this show.

To copy from his bio: He broadcasts live in Sydney each Friday, 10pm to Saturday 3am on Hawkesbury Radio 89.9FM, broadcast over the internet on the legendary bluegrasscountry.org, in Washington DC and in Virginia on WNRV Bluegrass Radio 990AM and FM 97.3

Found this group on YouTube. You don't need English or really the music, though that can be addictive, just look at the girls! Unfortunately its an old video and we all age so they don't look like that anymore. Anyway still looking at good looking women even though 80, triumph of mind over body. LOL

I too am an ABBA fan but preferred the older tracks, some which I suppose you could describe as "barrel organ" type rhythms which is what the Atomic Harmonic ones are. Not sure about ABBA's new ones, they don't seem "mainstream ABBA" anymore?

This was not the the last ABBA video after all?

Been watching a few of the American school marching bands on YouTube but these Japanese girls can give them a run or their money. Don't know how a few lads managed to get in though, must be fun in the changing room?

"English Rose" meaning? As Britain is a sunless country the richer women were proud of their untanned white skin and they even had pole fire screens that could be adjusted to keep the open fire off their face and reddening their skin, but still warm the rest of them. Only the "lower orders" had a ruddy weather beaten complexions, the sign of somebody who had to work for a living.

See:-

https://www.sellingantiques.co.uk/t/ant ... e-screens/

Not subjected to sun, as in warmer climes, in the past our women's skin used to stay younger looking longer than those from hot sunny climes. You can see the difference with the girls now going abroad on holiday every year and simply lying in the sun to get a tan since by their thirties the skin exposed to the sun has aged rapidly. Then after lying around sunbathing on expensive yachts decks they wonder why the millionaires keep changing them for a younger model? White skins were not designed for sun, they ev0lved to live in sunless climates.

Nottingham UK only had one group that was a two hit wonder in 1974. Therefore I was amazed to find an American reviewing it in 2020 on YouTube? Surely they are not being revived again and played in the US?

I preferred their other song. Not modern type of music for all you youngsters, but then I am old enough to remember when rock started with Bill Hayley and the Comets.

Willie, Waylon and the Boys. Old school country, mid 70's is a good start; The Outlaws, The Highway Men albums etc., 2nd is Classic Country. 3rd is New Country, a little too much Rock mix in. Nothing like a good Steel Guitar in a song, drinking, fishing, a beat up truck and a good woman. :)

Is she gone for the summer, gone for the night?
Gone for the weekend or the rest of my life?
Was she laughing, was she crying
As she walked away?
I can't say
I was on a boat that day

I'm gonna search for these ones. I like country music but don't know very much about it...it seems to be an universe and I don't know what to search for. Thanks for the names.

Currently I'm totally into Tiger Army. I discovered Tiger Army when searching for country music: I stumbled on the Nick13 solo disco...wow...that's good! ...and them I discovered that he has also a rockabilly band called Tiger Army...a kind of music I would never listen to, but that I'm totally into nowadays.
