No, this is Larryleachia cactiformis. I grow it as a cactus: dry half year and moderate water in summer. Mainly in mineral soil, it has thick roots.

A. kotchoubeyanus - ~ 30 mm in diameter, from seed 1996, but I got it much later.

Blooms from January.

My guess is that it is some neoporteria species.

These Strombos opened flowers in the same rainy day. Not a coincidence, rather a mutual setup.

Hello 7george,
nice plants! My favorites are the Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus and of course the Turbinicarpus valdezianus. Also, the second to the last image is rather nice. Is that by any chance a Neolloydia?

That is Escobaria minima, tiny plant that blooms regularly several years in a row. Have 2 of them.

Need to post something here too.

Earlier this month.

Image
Discocactus boomianus started the blooming season quite late.

Image
Seedlings of Huernia sp. (maybe H. McCoy) from this spring. Growing faster then most cacti.

The last photo is from today.
Turbinicarpus swobodae.

And another view.

Because the species is self-fertile I've got some offspring of it.
Image
Seedlings a quite slow growing in my conditions.

Image
Chileans (Eriosyce curvispina) started coming out of summer dormancy.

Season changes in Alberta again:
Image
After the fall comes some cold weather as well and I have to bring non-hardy plants indoors.

Image
Several pots with different Opuntia will stay outdoors.

These above are not hardy and as they grow more problematic their overwintering gets. Decided to take those out of that bulky pot and store them bare-rooted.
