Re: Days of my cacti lives - in pictures
Very nice collection and outstanding images. I'm just arriving at that point of seasonal weather change, too . I'm also 1,000 feet higher up in the Salt Lake Valley. We got snow on the 10K foot mountaintops Saturday night and cool rainy temps Sunday.
Saturday I bedded down all my cold hardies and will bring the others indoors in a week or so. Cool nights are here.

Re: Days of my cacti lives - in pictures
Thanks Steve!
Nothing is really in bloom right now so I'll picture some of my seedlings.
Echinofossulocactus dichroacanthus/Stenocactus obvallatus
E. erectrocentrus SB309 (Stenocactus multicostatus).
Some unknown Weingartia (Sulcorebutia) from this spring.
Growing very fast and looking for brighter sunlight from this early age.
And this above is some older stuff: Notocactus mammulosus, Echinocactus grusonii, Echinopsis aurea 'Leucomalla'.

That is the only cactus in bloom for now.
But some plants still show some growth.
Discocactus boomianus - one grafted and another is on own roots.
A new offset on the my Ortegocactus...

Shortest days of the year (7:54 h), not much movement in the collection.
Just waiting for the sun to come up and the new season to start.

Re: Days of my cacti lives - in pictures
Tomorrow's my favorite Pagan holiday.,.the Winter Solstice. Not that I celebrate like a pagan or druid...but for the fact that we get back two minutes of daylight each day until June 21st.
Merry Christmas!

Have to put here something from 2021.
Winter bloomers are in charge.
One more (is still) blooming now.
One flower but is opened for 3 days already.

Re: Days of my cacti lives - in pictures
My recent pest-bio-control solution. I founded a volunteer.
Some will already need an umbrella...
... if no dense felt or spines covers the top.
First flowers on these two.
Some very first buds on these seedlings here:

Do you "torture" sulcos hard enough this time of the year? Some will say "no pain ─ no gain".
Behind (in front of) the curtains.
And some new flowers from the same plants.

One of the Lophs here is making a new growth point from inside...
Another look outside:I'll need some new cold-hardy pots.

Re: Days of my cacti lives - in pictures
April is here again....
Rebutia pygmaea.
Sometimes even having just 2 plants of one kind we can get their flowers opened in the same day.
Discocactus

Re: Days of my cacti lives - in pictures
May comes with more flowers.
Two different variants of Reb. pygmaea opened first ever flowers.
This Gymno opens a flower after 2 years of "rest".
Regular bloomers.
First buds and a flower. Has to be W. pulchra (Sulcorebutia callichroma) most likely.
First buds & flower: Aylostera muscula seedlings.
