Yes, Keith: just for this reason, esp. for black pots placed on west or southern window or outdoors under direct sun. At 1025 m a.s.l. in clear sunny days the whole pot overheats.
Cacti and mosses can coexist obviously. O. fragilis here is awake.
Not all outdoor planting (potted and grounded) survived last mean winter but those remaining are growing already.
This Notocactus bloomed on north-facing windowsill with some early morning & evening direct sunshine. But against white wall of the next house.
And others from these days:
Aylostera spp.
M. bocasana.

It took a while before I knew what "1025 m a.s.l." meant. 1025 meters above sea level. I was going to ask when it hit me.
I'd have to say, 200 m a.s.l.!!

Thanks for sharing! Encouraging to see flowers on other folks windowsill cacti ( if I don’t remember wrong, you keep most of your collection indoors?) Picture six in this post, is it a Mammillaria carmenae I see to the left?

Thanks! You remember all correct. That is one my
M. carmenae in that row.
Just 2 bloomers among winter-hardy cacti so far, that is the total I think.
O. fragilis.
O. polyacantha.
Indoor plants continue to bloom somehow.
T. bicolor & M. boolii.
T. swobodae.
Here just buttons so far: Mamm. grahamii.

And to wrap up June: first flowers of
M. grahamii, my seedling.
First my frailea (F. castanea) that produced a real flower.
Others are fruiting directly so far.
- Frailea mammifera ssp. angelesiae

Last one is from July 1st.

Somewhere 6 - 8 years from seed. Don't have a record about sowing.

Yeah, but pinkish outside:
Still are opened today. Get it last year in a local Walmart.
It's a rainy season in Calgary.

Thanks for the photo!
Never saw a flower on my plants - only fruit capsules with seeds. . .
Best wishes,
K.W.
