Garden on the Street

Post by kari »

Howdy,

We is on our way to DisneyWorld! And will be back on the Fourth of July. Yes, we intend to have oodles of fun!

In the meantime, here is a nice garden here in Canyon, Texas.

Toward the back, before the last yellow Opuntia flowers on the right of the frame, is Opuntia lindheimerii linguiformis, the "cow's tongue".

Most of the others are O. lindheimerii (or if you prefer, O. engelmannii) with a Cylindropuntia imbricata cholla.

Cheers!

Wow,

Who needs a fence when you have a wall of cacti. Very nice display.

Yeah, I thought you'd like it, Bill!

I have some close-ups of some of the specimens, including a magenta-flowered little prickly pear, looks vaguely like O. polyacantha trichophora, though I could be wrong... :-k That little gem was hiding, I was driving away when this glint of red caught my eye...Eh? What's this?

So, thar ya go. Oh, they also have a huge linguiformis in their front.
