In April I stayed for about 3 weeks in Arizona at our friend John Durham.
He's one of the guys who was involved in creating the new TCSS Field Guide to Cactus and Other Succulents in Arizona.
Together with him we took some field trips and he showed me amazing places and plants I've never seen in habitat before.
It was great to be there again and I'm pretty sure we'll come back as soon as possible.
Unfortunately the main flowering time of the Echinocereus was already done but with some luck we found some which
saved its flowers for us. Thankfully!
Our first trip together was a mountain range in southeastern Arizona. I don't want to name it because to protect
the plants which we found there. I hope it's fine for you.
The "CREW" was really helpfully on this trip!
This location wasn't the main attraction on this trip.
What we've found in the mountains is coming soon.

Arizona and Utah 2015
Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize that we cannot eat money.

Re: Arizona and Utah 2015
Very cool. Is that Mammillaria diseased, or just sunburned?

The Mam is only sunburned. On another location we've found only green ones on this day.
Unfortunately at this place we've seen only this single one.
Again some Escobaria vivipara var. bisbeeana. Even with an extra portion of fertilizer.
I don't know the name of this bushes.
For reaching our main target we had to climb up this hill.
We really had many fun on that day.
We also found some Echinocereus arizonicus ssp. nigrihorridispinus but not with open flowers.
What we also found on that rocky slope is coming soon.
